If Bubba leaves and is replaced by a Stern show replay Sirius may actually draw more subscribers.

Interesting thread!

I didn't have sat radio for Bubba and so his going bye bye won't matter to me one bit. I tried listening many times, but it just wasn't something I got into.

I don't have an Sirius subs to cancel, but I am not canceling my Best of Sirius on my XM account. LOL

If you've cancelled all of your Sirius Subs what are you doing with all of that hardware?

Your SL2 stuff specifically. Asking because depending on what you have, I might want to buy.

Sad day when DAB does not have a Sirius sub. Sad day indeed.

I don't think anyone per say will cancel, but I mean truthfully you need more than one main stream talk guy, (not inc sports) IMO. Especially on such a wide spectrum of channels and because its not holding out to just such a small section of the country. (its nationwide) and not including the folks up here in Kanaduh. I know that here Bubba's got a following, damn SiriusCanada can throw some money his way.

Pretty disappointing to see Sirius let Bubba go after all BTLS has done for them. Bubba has been nothing but a trooper for years now.

I like the fact that they merger was supposed to make things better but likely made them worse...Sounds like we just got XM's shit! If XM was doing poorly, would have been better if we just got them when they were down and out or totally let them die in order to snatch up their desperate subscribers. Sounds like money is tighter than ever!

In general (or as Sal would say "statistically speaking") unless you are in upper management mergers are almost always a bad thing

I am not sure what I will do if he goes. I will be pissed just like many others here.

I have been a fan since 1-9-06. I wasn't able to get him on terrestrial radio previously.

This would be a big loss for us and Sirius if he goes.

Not here.

I would cancel if Howard leaves, or at least cut back to one radio. Never really got into Bubba.

Nobody listens to SiriXM just for Bubba. He's not a national radio personality.

We forget that those of us who go to forums to talk about shows represent 1% of those shows' audiences. The other 99% listen casually. They won't know the difference between a "Bubba" or whatever else gets put in that slot, or they won't care. Mel knows this, and so does Bubba. If Bubba had any real draw, he wouldn't have stuck around as long as he has and taken the shit he's been subjected to by SiriXM.

I believe fans will cancel many secondary but not a lot of primary (or one and only) subscriptions. I think it was Howard that sold people on Bubba and with him even suggesting the other day that they might do away with Howard 100 if Bubba left, I think Stern fans will move on for the most part. Then again, some people might be hooked. Sadly, I don't think in the three years Howard 101 has been there that I have found any of the secondary shows worth listening to for more than the first week. But I if people leave, well that's another great move by Mel and the other Corporate Cannibals!

Nope. It'll suck and piss me off but I bought Sirius for NASCAR and Howard which they still have. I've also come to like some of the other talk programming.
I'll probably complain with an email but they don't listen anyway.

I wonder what THAT canned email will read like. Will they suggest Maxim, Playboy or just say, "Hey, at least Howard is still. Stop emailing us and listen to him....Bitch!"

Yeah and that is a big ass if! It is like with anything you'll have a few upset and they will cancel a radio (maybe) so the impact will be negligible.

If they can't come to terms they can't come to terms. Why do without knowing both sides of this just assume it all about Sirius. You don't think Bubba has any role in this? If you don't you are naive as hell.

This man has a history of doing this crap to try to bully Sirius to get what he wants. This time it might just bite him in the balls.

I never could get into Bubba. I liked him, and he seemed like an nice fellow, but his sounds made my ears tired. When Howard leaves I will probably drop my subscription, but not until then.

The bubba act is old and tired.
Hate Brent.
Have not listened to a whole show in months.
I check it out every once in a while when Howard is on commercials but nothing keeps me listening.

They sound too desperate for attention.
