Yesterday was opening day of the 2019-20 NBA season. The Clippers beat the Lakers 112-102. Kawhi Leonard scored 30 points and Paul George was sidelined with a sore shoulder. In the only other game, the Raptors beat the Pelicans in overtime, 130-122. The Clippers are current favorites to win the NBA championship. Yes, really!

The Warriors played at Oakland Arena from 1971 to 2019. Last night they played their first regular-season game at their new arena, Chase Center in San Francisco, and lost to the Clippers, 141-122. The 141 was the Clippers' sixth-highest point total in franchise history. The Clippers are now 2-0. An impressive start – but how long will it last?

When I see the Golden State Warriors now, all I can think of is: "Behold, how the mighty have fallen." They are 3-13 (.188) after losing to the Mavericks by 48 points, 142 to 94. Dallas made 22 three-pointers and handed the Warriors their worst loss since 1973 when they lost to the Lakers by 56 points in game 3 of the NBA Finals.

I'm glad that the Warriors suck right now! It's Rockets basketball now.

In this year's Western Conference semifinals, the Clippers led the Nuggets three games to one. One more win and the Clippers would advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in the franchise's 60-year history. They proceeded to lose the next three games and now they've lost another head coach. Their next coach will be their 26th.

This is a sad story. He was a good Sixer for a bit:

Hopefully he gets the help he needs and it's nice of Mark to be willing to help.

Also there was def a rumor that he banged Lebron's mom while they were both Cavaliers so I will always love him for that hahah.

I thought that was dumb to fire Doc. He’s a great coach. Just needs better players.

I never begrudge athletes getting paid as much as possible. I view them the same as movie stars, they provide me with entertainment, but they have a far more limited lifespan in their industry. Tom Cruise has made at least that much over his career and the stars of each league are on his level imo.
