Just heard 20 of these last month.

39. THE NEXT TIME I FALL – PETER CETERA WITH AMY GRANT

Kinda what Grant said to Vince Gill years later, while she was still married to Gary Chapman.

37. STAY THE NIGHT – BENJAMIN ORR

Never noticed that weird female laugh at the very end of the song until hearing it this time.

29. LOVE YOU DOWN – READY FOR THE WORLD

Lionel with.... Alabama? His 14th solo single, and first not to be a top 10. Peaked at #71.

Not surprised it didn't make the top 40, but it's better than most of the ones that did.

#81 peak. Shoulda done better than that. It did make the top 40 in Ireland, Belgium & New Zealand though.

Rolling Stone Interview with Carrie Fisher:

RS: You were married to Paul Simon. Are you able to enjoy his music and dissociate it from your personal relationship with him?

CF: Absolutely, though I do like the songs he wrote about our relationship. Even when he’s insulting me, I like it very much. If you’re gonna be insulted, that’s the way to go. “Graceland” has part of us in it.

Just heard 21 of these songs last month.

38: IN NEON - ELTON JOHN

First time hearing this one. Don't need to hear it again.

19: DO WHAT YOU DO - JERMAINE JACKSON

849ec66b71f5b46eaaf54fdc6fd56492.jpg

10: I WOULD DIE 4 U - PRINCE & THE REVOLUTION

Anyone else remember the dance moves for this one? When he sings "Die" make a gun with your thumb and index finger & point it at your temple. When he says "for" hold up your four fingers. When he says "you", point at the girl you're dancing with.

01: LIKE A VIRGIN - MADONNA

Have always hated this one and "Material Girl". I admit they are catchy, but that makes it worse because they get stuck in my head and I can't stand it!

#61 Deep Purple "Knocking At Your Back Door"

The intro and opening riff are really cool, but then it starts to suck.

#99 Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Two Tribes"

They did Hall & Oates "Family Man" as a lost hit/treasure trove/auditory gem/etc earlier this week too. I was like WTF?!
That was quite the big hit back in the day. Can't understand what's so 'lost' about it.

Although I did hear 'Take Off' by Bob and Doug McKenzie and Geddy Lee on one of those the other day. That was kinda cool.

I was listing to this countdown coming back from Tucson after watching a Phoenix Rising game.

I enjoyed that Rick Astley song, I don't get to hear that song much anymore.

30. LITTLE LIAR - JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHAWKS

Wish I heard this song more often

#48 Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers "If We Never Meet Again"

Not bad. The singer looks like Daryl Hall, but with John Cafferty's mouth.

#49 Huey Lewis & The News "Give Me the Keys"

Musically, it barely sounds like HL&TN to me. Maybe a tad bit like "The Heart Of Rock And Roll" - but a jazzy organ remix of it? If it weren't for Huey's voice, I would never have guessed it was them.

#53 Fleetwood Mac "As Long As You Follow"

I think this would have been top 40 if it was made like 7 years earlier. It sounds very early-80s yacht-rocky.

#58 House Of Lords "I Wanna Be Loved"

Released by Simmons Records. As in 'Gene Simmons'. The label's logo? A bag of money, of course.

Simmons Records_878b.jpg

#84 Pet Shop Boys "Left To My Own Devices"

Didn't like it back then, but after a roommate played the album over and over in the early 90s, it kinda grew on me.

Will never make the top 40
