Lou's less successful brother?16: ONE IN A MILLION YOU - LARRY GRAHAM
#42 Pat Benatar "You Better Run"
Both are shockers.#62 Peter Gabriel "Games Without Frontiers"
That's too bad. It's such a fun tune(s).#72 Kings "Switchin' To Glide/This Beat Goes On"
That's insane.#84 Genesis "Turn It On Again"
Agreed. That one stings a bit. That one is pretty hurtful. Most of his stuff is not quite so pointed. Good decision on Al's part.
Would this be the first time the #1 song has gotten the Beavis treatment?1982

#70 Clocks "She Looks A Lot Like You"
No wikipedia entry (there's a different Clocks band on there, but not this one).
Won't reach the top 40
#44 Huey Lewis & The News "Workin' For A Livin'"
#46 Clash "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"
#53 Don Henley "Johnny Can't Read"
#79 Toronto "Your Daddy Don't Know"
#92 Missing Persons "Words"
But there is a youtube entry.
My surprises for the week.
I think the Clocks tune was more of a regional hit ( with that region being the Midwest ). I completely forgot about it until I was reminded of it a couple years back. The album was actually released on CD, somewhat surprisingly. I own it. But after seeing the video, I got a pretty good idea of why it never hit nationally. Yikes.
A little surprised that the Huey song wasn't a Top 40 hit, but it almost was.
Funny to see how "Words" was a Top 100 hit, because at the station I worked at it was a "red" category track - which meant it could only be played from 9pm-6am. Now you hear it all the time.
Overall, I was surprised by the number of songs in this 40 that we DIDN'T play where I worked, even though I started there just 2 years later. I counted at least 16 songs. But it was early enough in the decade that the formats where still pretty blended ( lotta Adult Contemporary in the 40, which would shrink as the decade went on ).
#44 Huey Lewis & The News "Workin' For A Livin'"
#46 Clash "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"
#92 Missing Persons "Words"

I'm shocked "Words" was that low, that wasn't the peak was it?Damn right.
