No shipping costs and I'm already paying sales tax.

What the hell for?

You can buy a kindle at almost any store on the planet. Wal Mart, Best Buy, Target, Staples, Office Depot, Office Max.

who has ever desperatly wanted a kindle but didn't get one because they didn't know where to buy it?

Walmart no longer carries it. I wouldn't be surprised if other retailers do the same.

There already quite a few Amazon warehouses throwout the country. Just pop-up a store next to the warehouse, it could be like a IKEA.

They should sell them at Radio Shack.

Radio Shacks are everywhere and they don't sell any digital content. Plus, they badly need a product that would get people in their stores since the company is dying.

In fact, Amazon could probably buy them for pennies on the dollar.

A match made in heaven.

Amazon's New Secret Weapon: Delivery Lockers - WSJ.com

Amazon has started building lockers to deliver packages to people who don't have a secure delivery method. They put them in the back of places like convenience and drug stores, then send you a code to pick up your merchandise.

That's a cool idea. I don't know if it will last very long, but it's cool. I suppose it would work best in large markets.

It makes a lot of sense in urban areas, and it gets Amazon involved with traditional retail.

Traditional retail sucks. It's ironic that Amazon spent all these years killing it, and now wants to sell Kindles through it, so it can finish killing it.
