"Our menu options have changed. " I feel like every business place I've ever called has recently had menu options changed.
What we're all dying to know is: Do they all still have a recorded message telling you your call is important to them? :p

"Our menu options have changed"
I feel like every business place I've ever called has recently had menu options changed. Or that's just something they feel the need to say.
Always prefaced with "please listen carefully ". Logically, it's bullshit. Changed from what? From yesterday? A month ago? A year ago? How would they know when you may have last called?

And what if they don't provide this warning? What's the worst that could happen? You hit 2 before hearing the menu, and you get the wrong option. Wow, that's tragic.

More bullshit. It's important to you, that's why you're willing to sit on hold for 20 minutes, before being disconnected. If it was important to them, they'd dedicate a person to answer your call.

My favorite is when a company calls you, and then puts you on hold.

How about the recorded message advising you that "this call may be monitored for quality assurance." I have never in my life met a "quality assurance monitor" and I doubt anyone else has, either!

Actually, that is not bullshit. Mrs Scotch worked for a big health insurance company doing customer service, and all her calls were recorded and reviewed by supervisors/managers.

All right, I stand corrected – but I still refuse to believe any of the sweepstakes ads that tell me I "may already be a winner."

I'm seeing a lot of these inane tag-lines on social media comments:

Just sayin';
Asking for a friend;
Just my two cents.

These are usually followed by .........., to give it that "stream of consciousness" feel.
