All of these NFC payment operators are taking a cut. You don't think AT&T, Verizon and the other companies pushing softcard (used to be ISIS) are just doing it for fun and because they love their customers? I'm not an apple fanboy but I would much rather give them a cut of my transactions than my cell phone company.

I guess I need to put a disclaimer on all of my posts when I am kidding around. My Apple in it for the money post was me kidding around. Every company is in it for the money. I know that. Hell we all know that.

I would love to make a joke, but I don't want to derail the thread.

Here in Phoenix we have BJ's Restaurants and Brewery, but thanks MM for clarify what BJ's really is.

Apple pay will be a big hit, the fact that you aren't giving the your credit card number to the store is huge. I can't wait until next year when I can upgrade my 5S

I hope so, I get a bit tired handing over my credit card to the store clerk or when they ask for id. Hopefully with the Apple Pay, asking for a credit card and id will come to an end? I know they have to check your really the user, but sometimes it gets a bit annoying.

With all of this Apple Pay talk, I really wanted to try it out and plus I have a Walgreen's right around the corner from me. I just went there and bought couple of candy bars to test out the new Apple Pay and it took me a couple of tries. First time I tapped my phone at the card reader, while I was finger scanning and I thought it was done and so I pulled away early and didn't read. You need to keep your phone on the card reader, until the full fingerprint scan is complete. I had my phone on vibrate, so it vibrated to let me know when my purchase was completed and a pop-up showed up as well and of coarse punch-in your pin number on the card reader. But the store clerk and couple of customers were impressed of the new technology. I like my new toy and I look forward to use it at future locations, where ever Apple Pay accepts it.

I just tried it at McDonald's... Very easy payment but the cashier was clueless as to what I was doing. The manager walked over and confirmed that all went well.
They deserve $15/hour dealing with this new fangled technology.
