I assume you haven't lived or traveled to cold places?

I'd say in the ballpark of -10°F is as low as it's gotten in southern NH.

As for me, I once spent a weekend skiing at Jay Peak in VT (on the Canadian border), during a "cold spell". It was -10°F at the base of the mountain, in the daytime. But the night we drove home, my trusty Mercedes 190E's external temperature reading hit -27°F.

I've traveled quite a bit, but it's always been during the warm weather months.

I know that we've hit -20 here before.
I'm not a fan of it.

The highest that we've hit here was 104, but I'm sure that I've been places where it was hotter.

This next weekend is going to be pretty cold.

Be thankful you are not in Saskatchewan right now. They are close to -40 (the temperature that is equally cold in Celsius as it is in Fahrenheit).

It's 74 right now, but the weather people are flipping out a bit because a cold snap is headed this way. Temperatures will plummet into - gasp! - the 30s and 40s, maybe even some upper 20s.
Actually, if you don't have heat, that's pretty cold.

This weekend we’re expecting lows almost down to -20°F.

But on the bright side, temps are supposed to be above zero starting next Tuesday, with a high of around 20°F on the 19th.
Gotta set that bar pretty low, eh?

Sunday we're supposed to hit 9, with a low of Minus 9. Cold all the rest of the week beforehand, although not that bad. Luckily I'm in WFH and don't have to leave the house for much.

That's one of the downsides to WFH: you have to heat your house all day.
