Cecil played bass with the BBC Orchestra in the late 1950s and became an original member of Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated in 1961. Cecil played on seven Gil Scott-Heron albums and four Isley Brothers albums, produced five Stevie Wonder albums and co-designed and built TONTO, the world's largest analog synthesizer.
