Ben, Tommy, and Jesse met in 2003, while attending The George Washington University. 5 years later they released their first album "Let Live & Let Ghosts". Jukebox the Ghost began headlining a tour in the UK and then the US, a year after. On September 1, 2010 they appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman which marked a major milestone for the band. Shortly after they opened up for Barenaked Ladies on their Fall US tour. This year the band opened for Jack’s Mannequin and released their third album, Safe Travels.     Ben Gibbard is an American musician known for being the lead singer of successful indie rock bands, like Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service. After 15 years with Death Cab for Cutie, Ben decided to record a solo album, not as a new chapter but as another side to his story. His debut album Former Lives was released late in 2012 and includes guest musicians like Jon Wurster, Mark Spencer, Aimee Mann, and Zooey Deschanel. Many of the tracks feature Gibbard playing all the instruments by himself! Ben recently stopped by the Sirius XM studios to play some of his newest songs on Coffee House Live!

    This week, hear Max Gomez. Max grew up in Taos, New Mexico, the son of a Portuguese-Spanish father and an Irish-Scottish mother. He fell early under the influence of country blues, and then moved on to classic modern singer/songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and John Prine, as well as folk-based rockers like Tom Petty and Neil Young. Earlier this year Max released a debut album, Rule the World, varying in themes of heartbreak, regret, young love, desperation and, ultimately redemption. Family of the Year is an American indie band from LA. They self-released their debut EP “Where’s the Sun†in September 2009. Shortly after, the band flew west for California shows with Bell X1 before returning east for the CMJ Music Marathon, marking their New York debut. Later that year they released their first full-length album titled “Songbook†and continued to tour. They even made $5 tour postcards available on the band's website, to fund their touring.
