Final data will be released in four days. The four hottest years on record are 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. This year is likely to be the second-hottest year on record, which will mean the five hottest years have been the last five years. "The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, causing it to scorch everyone with its fire. Everyone was burned by this blast of heat....." – Revelation 16:8-9, New Living Translation

You posting a picture of that Simpsons character really burns me up. And, speaking of burning.......

Alaska had 95 consecutive days of above average temperatures this year (April 26 to July 29). July was Alaska's hottest month on record. Almost every major city had record high temperatures. On July 4, Anchorage had a high of 90°. The expanse of ice in Alaska in July was the smallest on record. The water in Alaska's streams and rivers has also reached record high temperatures, in the low 80s. Excessive heat worldwide is killing people, fish and animals. At least insects are still thriving.

Melting ice and rising sea levels could displace two billion people by 2100 and many island nations could be underwater. Memo to Mister Hectic: Toledo could be a coastal city.

Scientists bid farewell to the first Icelandic glacier lost to climate change. If more melt, it can be disastrous.

This is insanity! They want us to turn the temp UP before bed??? 82 to go to bed...crazy. I am 100% positive a woman wrote this report.

I saw this headline but didn't read until now. It's an insane article. Why have A/C if you have to sleep at 82 degrees? And I'm pretty sure that letting it go to 85 when out, will require more energy to get it back down. It's just propaganda from the energy suppliers, who want to blame you for high energy costs.

This.
It costs more to have your AC try to catch up and overcompensate for really hot days. I assume that the same is generally true at night.
Keeping your average temp a couple of degrees warmer all the time should cost the same, less, and cause less wear and tear on your equipment.

When we run the mini-split A/C units, they're on 72. There's an eco mode that we can turn off for faster cooling. Our monthly electric bill runs from $90 to $110, summer or winter, for everything. I can't figure out if the A/C costs us anything, maybe $20 a month.

I'm thinking that if we saved all the billions of shipping cartons used by Amazon since 1994 and taped them together, we could make enough giant sunshades to keep the earth from getting any warmer.
