The five hottest years ever recorded are 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Arctic sea ice is melting, Antarctic sea ice is melting, ocean temperatures are rising – and the number of global-warming deniers is shrinking.

Sea levels are projected to rise 3 feet within 80 years, according to a mew UN report. Hundreds of millions of people could be displaced.

If I didn't live behind a system of levees, I'd become one of those displaced coastal people. Might happen someday anyway due to a hurricane.

"Look, I don't care about all the thousands of scientific studies showing earth's temperatures are steadily increasing, okay? Melting glaciers, rising sea levels, droughts, wildfires – those things are all hoaxes, okay? They're not happening. How many nations do we have in the world? Two hundred? Three hundred? If they all want to stay in that phony Paris climate accord, that's up to them – but the United States will not take part. Now let's get our coal miners back to work!"

I don’t think us ever actually joined the Paris Accord. So it may be difficult to withdraw from something you are not a part of.

IRBS, you're still using a history textbook that was published in 1954. That's why you didn't know about the US joining the Paris climate agreement. (Eisenhower is no longer President, by the way.) This is from September 2016:

Well that will make your withdrawal a lot easier then.

Greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise by around 1.5% per year. The worst polluters are the United States and China. Unless emissions can be reduced dramatically worldwide, we will have stronger storms, longer heat waves, severe droughts, rising seas and diminished food supplies – and our President takes no action because he believes global warming is a "hoax." Wow. (See also: "Russia hoax" and "impeachment hoax.")

The World War Zero initiative seeks to mobilize people to combat climate change. The coalition includes Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, John Kasich, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sting, Ashton Kutcher, Leonardo DiCaprio and many other politicians and celebrities. The President who believes global warming is a hoax and who pulled the US out of the Paris climate accord is noticeably absent.

On August 6, 1945, during World War II, an American B-29 dropped an atomic bomb over Hiroshima. Eighty thousand people died instantly. Thousands more died later from the radiation. Here is a very scary story about the rapid rise in ocean temperatures and the effects of warmer waters on coral reefs and sea life:
