Drc Madness #18: Saturday Night Live

Discussion in 'The Studio Lounge' started by Wolf, May 25, 2019.

I went through everything again and the nominations should be assigned to the right people.

Maybe I miscounted something, but we have a total of 65 nominations now. I also moved couple of cast members into the characters field like Wayne's World and Blues Brothers.

    We now have
    48 characters and sketches
    17 cast members

One of the cast match-ups will be a 3-way match.

If the live Nominations page doesn't show. Click on the link below which will take you to the page.

I have an idea – and please don't tell me what I can do with it. We need to eliminate one nominee, right? Mr. Bill and Toonces are the only non-human characters so I propose a "mini-madness" to decide between the two. I hereby cast the first vote and I'm choosing Mr. Bill. "Yay!"

It's a good idea, but the madness will start this Saturday.

A little break for now and gives everybody time to figure out who they want to vote for.

FYI, the Ambiguously Gay Duo are a cartoon by Robert Smigel (actually written by Conan O'Brien I think), so they are also non-human. Dick-in-a-Box isn't even a person or character; it's the name of a skit, so that's non-human too; although the people in the skit are human.

Are you not posting to this thread? I don’t really want to go to any other site.

I've never seen the Ambiguously Gay Duo so obviously I was unaware they were cartoon characters. Now I'm trying to figure out Skiing's question: "Are you not posting to this thread?" Who is the question being asked of? And anyone who is not posting here will never see the question anyway. I is confused.

I was speaking to Wolf or as you seem to know him as Mister Wolf.

I call almost everyone Mister – except for women, of course. I try to never call women anything. Otherwise I just get into trouble.

Robert Smigel has been creating cartoon shorts for SNL as long as the show's been on. They are often labeled as TV Funhouse. He is also the man behind Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

Since this question is for me. Everyone will still be posting here, I simply moved my spreadsheets to Google sheets for easier access for me.

The voting results will probably be viewed a different way now as a live link and PDFs as long the links work. I'm trying to avoid upload snip its and PDFs anymore. Since I get errors in the past and plus it take up server space for the forum.

Also I don't feel like going to a 3rd party website to host the images. I found out Google Sheets, Forms, Docs, etc. provides all of that for you for free.

    Thank you.

I'm having a hard time deciding who to vote for since I hardly ever watches SNL. But I haven't had much time right now to watch old clips to figure out who to vote for. I may pass for now and vote if I need to break up some ties.

I can't recall how I posted that live page when I did the nominations. The media button won't accept the link. For now, is here a link -> DRC Madness #18: Saturday Night Live with everybody current votes showing who is winning.

I'm working with formulas in the cells now which makes it a bit easier to put everybody choices in with a drop down list. In the past, I had to either type or copy and paste everybody votes. My only issue is the total of votes formula isn't working properly. For now I still have to manually count votes.
