Sometimes I feel like the only person I know that likes (or even knows) these ones. They're not on my all-time favs list or anything but they're certainly good enough to not be forgotten!

Today's Top 10: The Bare Naked Ladies (inspired from Jon's thread)
This group was banned at one point by the then Toronto Mayor for being derogatory to women. That's when their popularity took off here and the mayor's did not.

10. Big Bang Theory Theme
(This is actually a release on iTunes. I like the song and here it is.)
9. Jane
(Someone asked one of the BNL if they could write a song about an intersection. Here is the song about the intersection of Jane & St. Clair in Toronto)
8. The Old Apartment
7. Brian Wilson
6. If I Had a $1,000,000
(a made up on the fly song coming home from a camping trip turned into one of their most played hits)
5. It's All Been Done
4. Enid
3. Pinch Me
2. Grade 9
(interesting co-incidence. On today's Top 424 as #399.)
1. One Week
(last line, barely audible: "Birchmount Stadium: Home of the Robbie" is a football/soccer stadium about 2 miles from where I live. And yes, it is home to the Robbie which is a soccer tournament.)

Thanks. That solves one of many lines of lyrics I didn't understand.

Today's Top 10: Weird Al Yankovic
I could make it a top 40 easy. He does such great parodies. But here are my 10 favourites. I will comment on some.

10. Headline News
(I love how some of the lines of the Crash Test Dummies song remain in place but mean something completely different now)
9. Yoda
8. I Think I'm a Clone Now
(I like the parody but not the original song)
7. (This Song's Just) Six Words Long
6. Another One Rides the Bus
5. Achy Breaky Song
(another case of not liking the original. Like this one because it is quite insulting to the original)
4. The Saga Begins
(I have read that Don McLean likes this version and he has to be very careful when singing American Pie to sing the correct lyrics)
3. Word Crimes
(easily my favourite video)
2. Canadian Idiot
1. Smells Like Nirvana
(he mimicked the original so well I can't even tell which is which until the lyrics start).

Most of those on your list I quote with my son all the time, especially "Six Words" "Word Crimes" and "Rides The Bus". I'll add "Fat" "Eat It" "Pentiums" "Nerdy" "Grapefruit" and "Pitiful" -- we quote those all the time too!

Al's the best.

1. Eat It
2. It's All About The Pentiums
3. The Saga Begins
4. White & Nerdy
5. Smells Like Nirvana
6. Word Crimes
7. I Lost On Jeopardy
8. Trigger Happy
9. Amish Paradise
10. Yoda

(I have read that Don McLean likes this version and he has to be very careful when singing American Pie to sing the correct lyrics)

LOL

There Will Never Be Another Tonight - Bryan Adams

"You gotta ride your broom right into my room" - always loved that line

Jammin' Me - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Another song that deserves airplay once in a while, despite its dated references. Like I said in an earlier thread, skip one of the six Pearl Jam songs we hear every single day and play this one once in a while. Or at least skip "Free Falling" once in a while, fer cryin' out loud.
