The Dave Matthews Band played at my end-of-year dorm party when I was a freshman at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, in 1991.

They're from Charlottesville, of course. Some friends of mine used to go see them at Trax for a $1 cover charge, and they'd let you make cassette tapes right off the mixing board.

Everything is a JMU band most famous for its hit "Hooch" in the late '90's.

Where I live (Now) Rockford IL our claim to fame is Cheap Trick... Where I once lived (Columbia) South Carolina gave us Hootie & The Blowfish. CC
Hagerstown MD's claim to fame is Kix. Saw them many times in clubs here and still do. Wrathchild America was based in Martinsburg, WV about 10 miles away. If you're not familiar with them, their drummer was Shannon Larkin now with Godsmack. First saw Shannon when he was 14. Was it really that long ago?

Clutch is relatively "from the area" as well. (Germantown)
