Yesterday my team went to Chappell Hill for some hill training. I did 63 miles and climbed over 2,000 feet, which is the most this flatlander has ever climbed in a day. I actually had to use the small chainring. The scenery was beautiful. Deep blue sky and rolling hills covered with wildflowers. The weather was perfect.

I got my bike tuned up last week to prep for the MS150. New chain, new cassette, both upgraded. It rides like a dream, like it merges with me and just disappears.

I did 40 miles solo this morning in some fierce wind. I'm feeling quite fit and ready to ride to Austin.

had my longest single bike ride since i got the bike today. 13.2 miles. i had to go to the delray beach courthouse for some bullshit with my community service. i took the bus there so i wouldn't be all sweaty and then rode the bike back home. it was a good ride.

Do the busses there have bike racks on the front? In Toronto, if you have a bike and want to take the bus, you strap it on a rack in front of the bus. Then you take it off when you get off. Saves having to bring a bike on a crowded bus.

yea they do. every bus can hold 2 bikes on the front. public transit is surprisingly nice in palm beach county. they are always clean. even the older buses are still mostly modern and the new buses are amazing, with USB jacks in every seat. go one county south, to broward, and it's a whole different story. thankfully i rarely have to go that way but the 1 or 2 times i took their buses they were old, dirty and just gross overall.

Weather has been good here. Starting to feel summer coming, so I bought more bottles.

The team took last week off (after the MS150). We're supposed to take a couple of months off, but we miss each other, so we are having a brewery ride tomorrow morning.

I love my bike more and more. It's such a perfect thing.

God bless the Schrader valve! I was convinced (and pretty embarrassed) that my rear tire was deflating because I'm so fat. Turns out it was all that stupid Presta valve. I have now ridden 20+ miles on my new tire and it is still completely full. Before the change the tire would slowly lose air even if I didn't ride it. I'm glad I asked the guy at the bike shop to change the valve because he would have kept putting in new inner tubes and nothing would have changed.
