once again, i stand by my "just follow police orders" policy. yes it sucks to get kicked off a flight but it's a lot worse and more expensive to get kicked off a flight and arrested. they offered him $800 and a hotel room for the night so deal with it, get some room service and be on your way tomorrow.
Police are filmed dragging man off United Airlines flight | Daily Mail Online
There are limits to how obedient citizens should be. United's shitty overbooking policy can't be used to justify this behavior. He will sue United and the cops and he will win bigly.
i see it as United's shitty overbooking policy can't be used to justify this passenger's behavior.
What behavior? Refusing to give up the seat he paid for?
I think United is frucked up on logistics. This man had a seat. If they were overbooked by 4, that means they had 4 people who were not sitting yet. Why were they not bumped to the next flight? Also, I tend to think selling something you don't have is sort of fraud. Why is United allowed to do this?
In another article, they were bumping paying customers because some airline employees needed to fly somewhere.
I believe all airlines do it. There is a certain number of people who don't show up, so they sell more than they have to cover the empty seats. Part of buying the ticket is supposed to involve agreeing to a contract that your flight may be overbooked and you may not get to fly. But that's a matter for civil litigation, not forcible arrest.
Where was Benjy flying to?
dressed like this he was asking for it.
hah. i can hear the benjy scream in my head when reading about this.
I thought the darkest people on the plane had to give up their seats ???
That was buses that you were thinking about. They didn't let the dark people on airplanes.
I've been told the Colorado River doesn't even reach the Gulf of California
These are the nation's most 'endangered' rivers; top dishonor goes to the Lower Colorado River
