Maria Davis, 43, was enjoying a 'fun-filled pool day' with her children at home in California when an 'unfortunate jump' into the swimming pool left her with a traumatic brain injury.
This made me think of a story my parents told a million times to me and whoever they were hosting. Up in the Philly burbs my folks put a pool in when they bought the place where I grew up. It wasn't a huge pool but big not tiny either. The deep end was about 8 feet. So my parents would always tell guests not to do those downward dives. Well either before I was born or too young to remember they had guests over one summer and a guy didn't listen and dove in. When he popped back up his head was a bloody mess and he wound up having to get get a bunch of stitches.
