Channel 17. Duly noted. In announcing the limited-run (July 15-August 13) Michael Jackson Channel, a SiriusXM press release declared Michael's music to be "relevant now more than ever with his messages about unity, love and the black experience in America." In addition to all the music of Michael and the Jacksons, the channel features artists who influenced – and were influenced by – Michael. Here is a sample of the playlist:

Yes, I made a mistake. The Michael Jackson Channel is 50, not 30. SiriusXM has so danged many payola channels, I can't keep them all straight! The channel just played Michael's 1997 single Ghosts. It was a hit in Europe and the UK but not in the United States, perhaps because the song and the video have too many similarities with Thriller?

The Queen Channel plays every song ever recorded by Queen. Nothing else. Therefore it would be a waste of time to make a list – but I decided to waste a little bit of time and compile a sample. Here it is. Freddie Mercury recorded the piano and vocals of It's A Beautiful Day in 1980. The surviving band members completed the track and released it on the 1995 album Made In Heaven.

The Bridge has moved to CH17 and is alive and well and this time not replaced. I think it may be a cold day in hell before they replace the Bridge again. After doing it so often I think they have gotten tired of being inundated with angry listeners of the Bridge to do it again.

Bridge out. Take detour on E Street.

I've sampled them all and my feedback is mixed.

Chris Martin likes to interject his views on Cold Play's channels. It comes off as more of an audio documentary instead of continuous music.

The Queen channels is on a 2-4 hour loop with a variety of snippets from band members. Third party shows and segments of straight (no pun intended) music.

Bob Marley lift the energy in my earbuds and seamlessly transitions from one title to another.

The Prince channel has a couple hits per hour intermingled with almost sleepy and slow moving songs better suited for easy late evening mellow time.

The Beastie Boys pick you up New York style with their like or hate it approach in tune with the Empire city 's unapologetic attitude.

Michael Jackson's channel ebbs and flows from his hits to other Pop and R&B superstars who admired and tried to mimic his dance infused 90's version of slow and quick tempo songs.

The inclusion of these six LE channels make me want to compile information and start a thread about the past, present and future prospects for LE presentations and what I like the most and least of the production formats. I realize there's only so much content you can wring from a single artist or group.

A combination channel could feature a current megastar Monday through Friday with a super hit weekend. If Sirius is listening, how about R&B, Hip Hop, Soul and Rap Monday, Latino Tuesday , Woman Crush Wednesday, Jazz, Indie, Folk and Country Thursday and Rock Friday.

Yeah. Good write-up Vols.

I've been listening to U2 a lot and a bit of Beasties and Prince.
So far U2 has had my attention for much more time during the day.
