It took them 22 hours to drive from New York to Pomona and then another five hours to get across downtown Los Angeles.
Earlier this week, two gunmen tried to rob a jewelry store in South Florida and fled when the owner started shooting at them. They commandeered a UPS truck and led police on a lengthy chase before getting stuck in rush-hour traffic. Police killed them in a shoot-out that also killed the UPS driver and a motorist. In August, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill (AB 392) limiting police officers' use of deadly force. They now have to be able to show that deadly force is necessary because of an imminent threat. Fearing for their safety is no longer a justification. I have a feeling Florida's legislature and Governor may now decide to pass an identical bill.
