#141 Def Leppard "Photograph"

My 2nd fav album as a teenager, topped only by VH *Fair Warning*. This is one of the earliest songs that got me into hard rock/hair metal.

#140 Fixx "One Thing Leads To Another"

Another classic from 1983. Musically, vocally and lyrically cool all around, from start to finish.

Two great albums for different reasons.
Loved em both.

#139 Cure "This Twilight Garden"

Another lush, gorgeous Cure b-side from Wish.

Robert Smith: “This Twilight Garden” is my favorite B-side of all – it’s got a lovely atmosphere to it and I can’t understand how that didn’t get on Wish"

#142 Genesis "No Son Of Mine"

Another story song that hit me like a brick. Musically, I felt Invisible Touch went too pop and too inorganic, so this was a nice move back to rock and roll.

This one is in my top 200 (which I'll post 200-101 later!). Most later Genesis stuff is pretty cheeseball but this hits you right in the feels.

Hahaha!
This song is great.
One of the first comments sums it up. “....... I sometimes scream out SCIENCE for no reason at all because of this video.”

I covered him on my thread, but I didn't mention that there were 4 different releases of The Golden Age of Wireless. The first UK and US releases in 1982 did not contain that song. It was the 3rd version released in the US in '83 that had an extended version (running time 5:09).

No matter how much this one gets played, I can't get sick of it.
I sure can.
It’s a hate/love thing.
I hate how overplayed it is, I usually check to see if something more interesting is on elsewhere, but if nothing is on, I’ll switch back. By the end, I‘ve caught myself air guitaring more than I’d like people to know.:guitar2:

#134 LL Cool J "Mama Said Knock You Out"

I liked his 1989 album Walking With A Panther (minus the three ballads), but most people consider it a career low-point ("he was heavily criticized as being both lazy and a sellout"). I'm glad others didn't like it as much as me, because that made L come back in 1990 more ferocious than ever. This song is a "comeback" that starts with the line "Don't call it a comeback". BTW there's a killer performance of this with a full band done at MTV back in 1990 that mixes in "Hard To Handle".
