It would make sense. Merlin just bought a station in NYC (101.9) and two in Chicago (101.1 and 97.9).

It's expected that the NYC and one of the Chicago properties are going to move to some female-tilting news/talk sort of station. Right now the NYC station is playing a rock-centered A/C format (think Survivor, Sugar Ray, U2, John Mayer, Stevie Nicks, etc.) They started running some traffic reports in AM and PM drive, and there all sorts of drop-ins of women talking about chocolate and shoes. It must be a stunt until they get things in place for the permanent format.

In any case, they hired a bunch of people from one of the AM all-news stations in NYC...so a news and information intensive format is expected.

I think anytime a "real" comedian uses race and/or religion to be "funny", it's hacky.

You shouldn't need that avenue if you're truly funny. It's a crutch that a lot of comedians use, even when they don't need it.

shuli's a hack, but suprisingly lisa g was very successful as a sidekick on a hip hop show. knowing what we know of her now, I cannot believe she was on an urban station tho. suprisingly I had actually heard of lisa g before she started on sirius.

I wonder when exactly Langford quit - I must admit I'm surprised. If he gave 2 weeks' notice, then I would guess he quit the day they started their vacation?

Lisa G., come to think of it now, did seem pissed when she said "We're shortstaffed!" to Ronnie about not covering his dumb audition. So that makes me wonder if Langford did not leave "the right way" or something. Certainly you can't begrudge someone for finding another job.

I wonder where he ended up. Hopefully they just kill off Howard 100 News now.

Ralph Howard is still around - he was off on medical leave, and seems to be back part time now.

im sure howard doesn't give a damn about them being short staffed. in his eyes, each person that leaves that they dont replace equals more money on his own paycheck

Maybe. He did seem to take it very seriously, yet at the same time, he did get caught a lot making up very salacious and pointless headlines out of absolutely nothing. Maybe the fact that he could no longer cover Howard in any sort of real way was getting to him. That was when the news become a total joke. Everyone was fair game....except for Howard....after the price of a bracelet he bought Beth was revealed.

I agree and also find it sad that Howard rarely mentions staff members leaving and we are just left surprised. In the case of Artie, it made sense to not talk about the real story until it broke. But the KC thing and now this. Absurd!

I hardly listen to the show anymore, does ETM still call in? If so, he will be happy that Steve Langford left the show.
