I have a sportster 5 radio that I use in my car and in my home on a docking station- the SUBX2R. I love the setup, and use the radio/boombox in my kitchen. the Boombox rarely gets taken out of there, maybe to the deck for listening.
I also plug in my iPod to the boombox.
yesterday, when i brought my radio in, and plugged it into the docking station, i got a red ring around the power button of the docking station, which indicates low batteries. However, i'm plugged into the wall, which has never been an issue before.
the radio will power one, then give me a "Low Battery Power, Shutting down" message. i cannot get the radio to work on the docking station at all.
to make matters worse, when i dock my iPod to the boom box, there is now an audible hissing noise in the background.
I'm very upset either with the radio or boombox, i've used this for going on four months now and everything has worked OUTSTANDING thus far.
I have scoured the internet trying to find a solution to this. I've seen short one line "It's the radio not the boombox" and that's about it. the Radio works perfectly in my car.
does anyone have any ideas as to what the cause of this is? New Batteries do not help the situation. this radio and docking station worked perfectly four days ago, and there has been no "sentinal event" that i can think of that would have either damaged or changed either unit.
any help is GREATLY appreciated.
