That's great that all teams will be playing on opening day. I don't like that hokie schedule where three games are played on day one, then those teams get the next day off while the other 12 games are played. Just get the season started already

The players really don't care for it. Why waste your time in another teams city, just sitting around, waiting to play the second game?
If they want to do something cool, start the season with interleague play

Opening Day will feature eight divisional matchups among the 15 games, in addition to an Interleague contest between the host Tigers and the Pirates. The Yankees will open at Toronto for the first time since 2003; Cincinnati fans will see their "traditional opener" played once again on the actual first day of a season; and there will be a couple of early rivalry matchups in Giants at Dodgers and Astros at Rangers.
Nine games are scheduled for Friday, March 30; a full slate of 15 games is scheduled for Saturday, March 31; and the opening weekend closes on Sunday, April 1, with 12 contests.
The final day of the 2018 regular season, featuring 12 divisional games (notably including Yankees at Red Sox), is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 30. That would seem to ensure a World Series scheduled to end in October, if it starts again on a Tuesday.

That should only count as 1 win.
I'm glad that AL and NL been playing against each for several years now. But still the season is so long with 162 games. I personally think, if they reduce the division rivalry games and more interleague games would be played.
Or better yet, simply throwout the word interleague and have AL vs NL teams play each other all year or something like that. Just like the NBA and NHL does, all 30 teams play against each other.
