Ties are for losers.

I like the idea of starting a runner at 2nd in 11th and later innings. Maybe add a runner at 3rd in the 13th.

Hey, Commissioner, if you're serious about wanting to spped up the games, how about imposing a rule that a batter is declared out after he hits three consecutive foul balls?

Rob Manfred: 20-second pitch clock to be used in spring training

I have no issue with the 20 second clock. I try and go see the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Tennessee Smokies play at least once a year. You don't even notice the clock.

I hate extra innings. Stop the game at 10 and call it good

In his first season with the Dodgers (1949), Newcombe led the league in shutouts and pitched 32 consecutive scoreless innings. He was the first pitcher to win Rookie Of The Year, MVP and a Cy Young Award during his career. (Justin Verlander, in 2011, was the second.) Newcombe was often used as a pinch-hitter, a rarity for a pitcher. He ended his career with 15 home runs, 108 RBIs and a .271 batting average.

Dodgers icon, first Cy Young winner Don Newcombe dead at 92

You can put that in the celebrity death thread and I'll second it.

That it maybe a mod can move it

Every year I try and and catch a spring training game. I'm a Dbacks fan but I can see them anytime all year, I usually go with the other 14 teams to choose from.

Jays are sucking in Florida. 0-3 with 2 shutouts.

In a month they will be sucking in many more places.

Yes there's no crying in baseball this is the big time

Updated Cactus League 2019

1. Seattle 5-2
2. Arizona 4-2
3. San Diego 4-2
4. San Francisco 4-2
5. Cubs 5-3 LA Angels 5-3

If the Brewers want to defend their Cactus title they better get going. They are in dead last 2-6

The Anaheim Angels -- no, Arte Moreno, your team is not in Los Angeles; it isn't even in Los Angeles County -- are now 7-3 and in first place in the Cactus League. The Mariners are 6-3 and in second place. The Phillies are 6-2 and in first place in the Grapefruit League.

Mister Madison will be glad to know the Brewers are not the worst MLB team right now. The Marlins are the worst, then the Blue Jays -- and the Brewers are third worst. Ummm.....maybe a better way to look at it is that the Brewers are 28th best.

The Jays can't even suck properly.

The Rams moved to Anaheim but never changed their name.

Had the Angels never changed their name to California from Los Angeles in 1966, would it be such a big deal now?

Personally, I liked Anaheim Angels the best. It made them first in alphabetical order.
