From the sound of the impacts, they aren’t foam covered broomsticks, but they can’t be real steel axes either. The weight of them would be harder to swing, and would probably cause concussions.

That’s still cool. when we were kids, we would play Star Wars and beat the hell out of each other with hockey sticks. . . . . . Ahhhh, good times.

As a kid we would play a lot of street hockey. I liked being goalie. With a sick, baseball glove and catchers facemask on I was happy to throw my body in front of that orange hockey ball at any point.

Good times. We had hockey gloves, a goalie mask, and some other stuff, but never played on skates. We even played on frozen lakes in the winter. We had a good rink set up in the frozen lake in Hell Michigan one winter.
