Last night was a sad evening. My beautiful 20oz pumpkin spice big boy candle burnt through its last bit of wax.
However, as is always the case with candles, there is a silver lining. It's time to talk candle stats!
My little guys are $0.94 and burn for about 21 hours. The big boy was $4 something. Let's review its burning schedule:
10.2 - 21 hours
10.3 - 17 hours
10.4 - 14 hours
10.5 - 14 hours
10.6 - 17 hours
for a grand total of 83 hours of joyous burn time.
Divide that by the 21 hours my little guys burn and you get 3.95. So it costs more than 4 small candles and burns for less time. I should stick with my $0.94 friends that treat me so well.
Speaking of my small friends, I just started a new scent: apple pumpkin! What a delightful day it will surely be (don't call me Shirley).
Maybe the problem is you are burning them wrong.
The most obvious explanation is relative humidity. I think it will burn quicker in drier air. So your tests of candle burn length vs value are meaningless unless you burned both candles at the same time.Something is clearly amiss in Koopman Candle Land.
I don't know how conditions have changed but they must have. The small candle that ran out last night lasted 23 hours 37 minutes. That's over 2 hours longer than normal. So now the bug guy and small guy lasted well past all my previous test times. I started a new 20oz'er this morning, we'll see how it goes.
I will need to conduct some serious research to figure out what is happening.

I just bought my wife a whole bunch of those Glade candles from WalMart. They were on sale but much more than a dollar.
Godspeed to you and yours on your glorious candle journey. I'm sure it will bring nothing but joy to conceal your farts.
It is only 478 miles from Toronto to Centerville, Indiana, via ON-401 West and I-75 South. I will be expecting IRBS to make the trip before Christmas and give us a full report.

Well that stinks.Ok, that was cute.
However, the candle game is not some joke to be played with like a toy. It's serious business.
More importantly, how dare you alter my words. By now you (and for that matter everyone here at DRC) should know that everything I type on this site is basically holy. In time, theologians will look back at my writings on this site and form a new gospel that will spread through all the land like a smelly fart.
I will forgive this transgression my son.
