Millions of businesses have shut down aamid the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the shutdowns will be permanent. Here is a chart showing the unemployment rate for each state. Nevada has the highest unemployment rate right now and Connecticut has the lowest. (California's is 15.5%.) I figured Nevada's rate is high because of all the shuttered casinos. I did some research on this new-fangled invention known as the World Wide Web and discovered Nevada has 441 casinos. Connectict has only 19. There ya go!

I'm surprised that Hawaii is 2nd and Ohio is 6th.
Maybe it's because of all of the lost tourism.

.......For Hawaii that is. Ohio is probably manufacturing losses.

Millions of cicadas are expected to emerge after 17 years underground because, of course, it's 2020

Figures.......
No way they can be worse than the love bugs that show up in central FL every year. On my way to Disney last year it sounded like it was raining so many of them were hitting the car. And they don't wash off with wipers and fluid, you have to get out of the car with a rag to get them off. They really make driving blindingly hazardous.

Oh and cases are still going up in Broward, we're at 6,697 now.

Luke 21:11 says there will be "great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places" as this planet nears its end. Those "millions of cicadas" are part of that. COVID-19 is part of that. In the book of Exodus, Egypt was punished with ten plagues because the Pharaoh refused to release the Jews from slavery. One of the plagues was locusts. In 2020, a locust plague has hit East Africa. We can add that to the cicadas and the coronavirus. When the world ends, I can say I told you so.

Oh, wait.......

IMO, we're not all going to die. Man is tough. The world will continue to spin as it has for billions of years, it will repair itself in whatever manner it needs. This world and this country have been through horrible disasters many times before. Remember the civil war, slavery, mccharthy era, 2 world wars, presidents murdered, ronald regan, 9/11, multiple economic depressions and recessions. Uhhh, Trump. Check out John Meacham's book 'the soul of america' for far finer details about at the very least the ups and downs this country has overcome. If you already haven't read it. Stay strong y'all and take it day by day.

I don't actually think we're all going to die from this but I do agree with that statement. At some point humanity will die off and the world will be just fine. It will repair itself and doesn't need mankind to do it. Eventually something else will come along.

Truth. Most of us will make it through.
Man is tough.
And stupid.
The world will continue to spin as it has for billions of years, it will repair itself in whatever manner it needs.
It's trying.
Stay strong y'all and take it day by day.
True. Stay strong. Stay safe. Think of others.

It kinda already has.

I'm being over-dramatic partly for entertainment purposes, but also as a reminder that we shouldn't be too caviler about this COVID thing. If we are careful and listed to the scientists, things will go as good as they can till they develop a vaccine. If we ignore them, a lot of people are going to act stupid and get a lot of other people sick. I think that if I got it, I'd probably pull through OK, but I'd feel like shit if I knew I got other people sick.

Cuomo's predictions and projections turned out to be much more accurate than those of somebody else I could name (but won't). On January 22, two days after the first case of COVID-19 in the United States was confirmed, a reporter asked this person if his administration is worried about an impending pandemic. He answered, "No, we’re not at all. It's just one person coming in from China." Right now the death toll in the United States is 99,769.

George Carlin said exactly that at least 20 years ago. "Save the planet? The planet will be just fine, it's the people who are going away. The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas."

And then he said "maybe the planet kept us around because it couldn't make plastic on its own. It just wanted plastic."

Yes. But the mostest bestest effect of this coronavirus is that all the robocalls have stopped. All the overseas call centers are shut down. For two months, nobody has called to offer me viagra, solar panels, loans, health insurance, electronics (likely counterfeit or stolen) or anything else. I never answer any of these calls, of course, but now I don't even get any. Huzzah!

One hundred ninety-five more COVID-19 deaths in the United States will bring us to 100,000.
