Welcome to the 448th edition of Who Am I?, the weekly game where I dish out a daily clue to a subject and you have to guess who or what it is.

Every day, the clues get easier. The winner of this week's game gets a piece of my gratitude.

This week's subject is a TITLE.

CLUE #1: I was the subject of several now-lost movies.

    Congrats, Scotchandcigar!

It's Barney Google and Snuffy Smith, the popular comic strip that's been entertaining audiences for - as of next year - 100 years. The strip originally starred Google, known for his googly eyes, but in 1934, Snuffy Smith was introduced. Eventually, Smith became the strip's star.

Several BG&SS animated shorts were made, though several of the shorts made in the 1930s were destroyed by King Features because of the company's policy protecting their copyrights. One 1946 short, "Spree For All" was lost for years until a French print surfaced online.

There was even a hit song "Barney Google (with the Goo-Goo-Googly Eyes)" that was recorded in 1923.

In the strip's 99-year history, only three artists have drawn the strip: creater Billy DeBeck, Fred Lasswell and John Rose, who has been drawing the strip since 2001.

    New game next week!

For some reason, I remember that theme song. Maybe my parents sang it to me. Great game king!
