Welcome to the 554th edition of Who Am I?, the weekly game where I dish out a daily clue to a subject and you have to guess who or what it is.

Every day, the clues get easier. The winner of this week's game gets a piece of my gratitude.

This week's subject is a TITLE.

CLUE #1: I debuted in the 1960s and ran for five years.

Congrats, Scotchandcigar!

This week's subject was Soul! (not to be confused with the current Disney film), the 1968-73 show that aired on many public broadcast stations. It was one of the first programs in television history to be produced by an African American, Ellis Haizlip, who also hosted most of the show's 39 episodes. Three years ago, a documentary on Ellis' life, "Mr. Soul!" premiered.

Among the guests on Soul! included Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Kool and the Gang and many poets and politicians. Soul! paved the way for many other African-American-produced shows such as Soul Train, Showtime At The Apollo, Oprah and the BET network.

Ellis Haizlip died of cancer in 1991 at the age of 61.

New game next week!
