From a fully charged battery my radio will play for 45 minutes then the battery will completely die. Is it the battery or something wrong with the radio. Radio/battery is 5 months old.

Sounds like a battery issue. Mine lasts forever.

You might have to swap it out with Pioneer. Either that or TSS might have some. I've seen them on eBay for about $15.

Thanks fellas, glad it's not a problem with the radio.

That's a good deal if you need one $15 for an XMP3 battery.

I'm gonna have to, the battery is only under warranty for 90 days.

def sounds like the battery. I have used mine for 2 hours at the gym and had plenty of battery left

    Update.

I tried an experiment. I played my mp3/wma's and the battery drained normally. So it's only when I'm playing live XM that the battery doesn't drain properly.

Wow... SWEET! I've seen those for iPod's too, but wondered how well they worked.

12 hours of sat time is very nice indeed!

I have a 5v 3amp battery. If I use that will the amperage fry my radio?

My XMP3i only holds a charge for about 90 minutes before it has to be recharged.(It' s a refurbished radio I bought from TSS a few months ago it's been that way since I bought it.....started at about 2 hours a charge)

Would a new battery help with the problem I mentioned above?

I think the problem is the battery in the XMP3i gets overcharged and stops holding the charge for as long as it should[i've read elsewhere about people with the same problem with their XMP3i's].That too seems to be my problem.[I never had this problem with my Delphi MYFI radios]

Unfortunately rechargeables have a life expectancy.
