She plays cello and accordion – not at the same time, of course – and has played and/or conducted the orchestra on the soundtracks of Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Dreamgirls, Purple Rain, All The Pretty Horses, all three Austin Powers movies and many other films and television series. Katayama leads her own group, the Suzie Katayama String Quartet, and frequently plays cello with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
