Looks like Amazon has added music to their prime service. My wife showed it to me today. They only have a million or so songs now. No listening to ads and their supposed to be adding more tunes everyday. I already found a bunch of stuff I like on there as did my wife. She just loves her Kindle Fire HDX.

It's not as good as some services out there but if you already have Prime it's just an added bonus.

I have it as part of Prime though I really don't use it much. The biggest draw above other services (if you're into his music that is) is it has Garth Brooks discography where others don't. Beyond that it doesn't play nice with the HomePods I have (exclusive to Alexa, which my sister has and says it works well) and I'm not big on the user interface.

Same here - I have Prime ( although more & more I've been wondering why ) & I pretty much never use Prime Music. The app's clunky & I just prefer listening to my own stuff I have stored on my phone via Musicolet.

I tried Prime Music years ago. On the Echo, when you say "Play music by (band)" they start throwing in other songs that suck and don't make sense to be played alongside the band you chose. On the app/browser, the interface sucks, they took away 2/3rds of the music when they created Amazon Unlimited (monthly fee) so Prime is limited in selection, and every playlist I ever made kept dwindling down to half (ie I would make a 100 song playlist, go back to it in 2 months and 20 songs would be greyed out as unavailable, 2 months after that another 20 songs are unavailable, 2 months later I'd lost another dozen). Offer a service then make it shitty and see what happens...

Apple isn't exactly similar. If you say (for instance) play Rage Against the Machine, it plays all RATM Tracks including their deeper cuts you might not have heard in a while, or at all, along with the hits. If I say play a song by a particular artist (How I could just kill a man by RATM for instance) it plays that song, then adds similar artists and their songs along with more of the band (which I like). And the radio portion has stations that Sirius has long since gotten rid of.

After hearing about the app changes I had thought of coming back to satellite, now with the news that a majority of it is going to be SAC I think I'll pass.

I remember Pandora a long time ago was the worst. I created a metal station, and within 6 songs it was playing the Beatles. It was a joke. I emailed them with screenshots and the response was something like "We are aware that our software isn't producing the best results but we're working on it." That was an understatement!!
