"The movie may not have been a classic, and neither is the song — but damn if it doesn’t sound like Reynolds is having a good time while recording. 'Superficial' is exactly the kind of low-grade country song an unpretentious and hilariously famous Florida boy should have graced the charts with: giddy, sloppy, and only as memorable as a shot of tequila twenty minutes before last call." - Billboard

The first movie was a classic. 2-7 should never have been made. Yes there are 7. I think only the first 2 have Burt.

Burt kinda agrees with you about the second one (though I bet he liked the money)

"While Reynolds hated his experience filming the sequel, it was a financial success..." - Billboard

I need to brush up on my Russian. (I can hear Groucho saying, "Well, go get a Russian and brush up on him!") Here is the translation
of the lyrics of Prava Lyubov ("Love Is Right"), written by Nikolay Baskov:

You of all people should know what love does, everything in the world is only for love!
Love is always right! Only for love...
The one who is supposed to be with you, the one you can love, the one you want to love!
Love is always right! Love is right!

Here's the reason I started this thread. Gazelle Bundtcake is in the news about divorcing Tom Brady and I stumbled on these desecrations today...

Studio engineer:
We need more reverb……
And some auto-tune…….

and more reverb…….…..

…….did we use all of the reverb?

OK, this raises more questions than it answers. The first 3 make sense. But the next 4 don't seem right, for several reasons:
- There's an 11 year gap from the previous sequel
- they all occur in 1994
- the titles are silly, especially Bandit Bandit
- I'm guessing nobody from the original 3 are in these last 4

The song Hit by the Icelandic band The Sugarcubes (Bjork's band) has an English version that was big in the US. But they didn't speak English, so it was all phonetically pronounced. Here's the monologue in the middle - it's really idiotic

A small story which never happened
I said ouch! This really hurts
That can't be this has been
Practiced for millions of years
Therefore we are
Yes, but I, I'm a boy
A small story which always happens
I said ouch! This really hurts
This could well be
But this has
Been practiced for millions of years
Therefore we are
Yes, but, you're a girl

I have had the misfortune of seeing 2 & 3 (DVD set for $5). 3 has only Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason aside from one Cameo from Burt in the final scene. I simply got the rest from google as I did not know how many more there have been.

Looking at iMDB, the other 4 seem to be some TV movies completely disconnected with original films aside from the name.

Listening to Howard Stern 6/25/2002. The Losers (Stern radio crew) is about to go up against Corey Feldman's band and they're talking about other celebrities they've already beaten.

Tim Russ from Star Trek Voyager

Tina Yothers (solo, then Jaded)

Doug Flutie (Flutie Brothers)
note: Doug is on drums, not vocals

Listening to Stern 7/1/2002 and he's comparing playmate Tina Jordan to Pamela Anderson. Pam's ex Marcus Shenkenberg, a Swedish Calvin Klein model, was mentioned. I see he released a Latin (sounding) song in 2000 (just after Ricky Martin broke big with "La Vida Loca"). It actually sounds a bit like a remake of "La Isla Bonita".

Eddie Albert, best known for portraying Oliver Wendell Douglas on the 1965-71 CBS sitcom Green Acres, released an 11-track album in December 1966. Cleverly titled The Eddie Albert Album, it included remakes of several recent hits including Donovan's Colors, Simon & Garfunkel's Homeward Bound and the Sandpipers' Guantanamera. I doubt Mr. Haney could have persuaded anyone in Hooterville to buy this album!
