While I'm not against people knowing/discussing that a famous person was gay, I also don't see why it has to be brought up in the first place? It's not like I'd tell a fifth grade class "Jonny Johnson created Supergoat. He was straight." or "Bobby Bobbinson created Wondergiraffe. He got off rubbing his wienie against eggplants."
There could someday be Navajo ceremonies that conclude with the minister declaring, "I now pronounce you sannup and sannup."
