I have all the 1980s surveys of KIIS in Los Angeles. The station played I Love L.A. but the song never appeared on their weekly Top 30. The redhead in the video is Laura Howard Granito. In 1982-83 – this song was released on March 9, 1983 – she studied interior design and small business management at Cypress College in Cypress, California. She is now an interior designer and independent contractor in Seattle.

I kinda can believe this never made the top 40. But before he was Carlton Banks he was tap dancing on Broadway, dancing in a Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial, and working on a pop career.

Alfonso Ribeiro "Dance Baby"

PS and he did NOT break his neck while filming that Pepsi commercial

Actually No One Like You went to number one on Billboard's mainstream rock chart in the last week of May 1982. Here is a 2007 version by the obscenely named Jizzy Pearl (real name: Jim Wilkinson), who was a member of L.A. Guns, 1998-99 and 2009-11.

Jizzy Pearl is my favorite hair band stage name. Gross but hilariously clever. I didn't get the joke when I first saw it back in the early 90s. He was also the frontman of Love/Hate.

These two are, as the kid's these days say, "bangers"

INXS "Listen Like Thieves"
Peak: #54

This Australian group had already been in the top 40 twice with "The One Thing" and "What You Need". Hard to understand how "Listen Like Thieves" didn't make the top 40. I heard it quite a bit back then!
