Between The Sheets - Isley Brothers (101/1983)
Cornflake Girl - Tori Amos (107/1994)

Here's another one that almost made the top 40. I think it shoulda. It reached #10 in Canada.

#41 Hall & Oates "Don't Hold Back Your Love"

It was the follow-up single to the #11 "So Close" (which is on my 500+ list).

Like my previous post, I might be the only one on here who thinks it's an absolute sin that this didn't make the top 40, but here it is for posterity:

#42 Williams Brothers "Can't Cry Hard Enough"

Only one B-side of the Beatles' first 21 Capitol/Apple singles in the United States failed to make the Hot 100. I'm Down was the B-side of Help! and spent seven weeks on the Billboard Bubbling Under chart in July-August 1965, peaking at #101. The song fared even worse on the charts of the other two trade publications. It stalled at #106 on the Cash Box chart and #126 on the Record World chart.

Everything "Hooch"
Peak: 69

I really think the song should have a been a top 40 hit. But I might be alone on this one. It was on the radio regularly. It was well known at the time. I've met people years later who remember the song from radio. I would have thought it'd made the top 40.

The Grass Roots' Mr. Jones (Ballad Of A Thin Man) was a hit in Los Angeles but stalled at #121 nationally. It reached #27 on the KRLA Tune-Dex, #23 on the KHJ Boss 30 and #21 on the KFWB Fabulous Forty in October 1965. It was written and first recorded by some guy named Bob.

The Split Enz song was huge at least in Saskatchewan. I believe it reached #1 on the CJME chart. I am assuming it was big in Canada. I was right #13 nationally according to Wiki.

The Replacements, is that their big hit "I'll Be There For You"? Or a different song?

I haven't heard the Genesis song or the Wonders song. The rest are surprising.
