Hmm, there is a tree facing south in the front yard. It's not the cable service. 5G? Some other phone tower? Doesn't seem likely when around the corner it is strong.
Update. Being that my "new" car is a 2008 model, it's lacking in tech savvy. When I play SXM through my free-trial, I get a 1-line plain text name of song, and a 1-line plain text name of artist, against a gray background. In a corner of the screen is a little selection box that has the channel name.As I mentioned elsewhere, I just activated the satrad in my new car. Previously I was using the aux input with the phone app. But this car has a display screen, and if I want it to display anything useful, I need to put it in sat mode.
The wife's 2020 Outback (as well as the 2014 Tacoma before that) has the full color screen which displays all the info and album art. But my 2008 car is fairly primitive. My car reads texts too me too. Hilarious pronunciation at times. Never tried to have it respond. I think it will just never configured it. I don't have Apple Car Play.
The satrad display on mine is more informative. And it doesn't use data. Even has pictures of the artist.
I've never owned a car (for myself) with bluetooth, or a touch-screen, or any type of multi-line display, or an automatic transmission. So traditionally, I don't do gadgetry. And even with my new 2008 car, I can use voice commands to do things, but I don't think I'm going to use that very much. But the Android Auto app just came out and spoke to me, and all I had to do was say yes or no. It's perfect for a passive guy like me.I've never really taken the time to get into the voice commands and all of those cool things that my phone can do.
No clue why the hell I haven't done that, It seems like it's something that I'd like.
Bmw had bluetooth in 2002, and in 2005 it was compatible with any cell phone. But it was always part of the Premium package, which included a bunch of other stuff and cost over 3 grand, so I never got it.I think a lot of those extras like bluetooth came about in the 201* models. In my case, I chose the most gadgety version of the Corolla. I couldn't stand being without the gadgets if I knew they were available.
Me too for many years. But then my work started detecting streaming links, so I couldn't even get to the subdirectory on the site. But now it's more like a pop-up on the homepage.I think I've been using the listen on the app button for the last couple of years.
You rebel you.In a surprise twist, the SiriusXM website has eliminated the "/listen" streaming link (which my work computer blocked); and instead, it has me sign-in to my account and launch the app. This is not detected as anything but a chrome window by the task manager. So I can play the app on my work computer!
You missed me grumbling about the same thing in the 80s thread.Last week they re-posted the 1986 VJ (in "episodes") but named it 1982.
This week they haven't posted 1984. Get it together SXM!
PS - I'm posting here and not in the 80s thread because I'm staying away from any spoilers in that thread until I've listened to '84
