Getting around 55/25 these days. Our ISP (Cablevision) bumped up the tiers a month or two ago. Top tier is now 101/35. Not bad.

Let me ask you an honest question.

What do your numbers get you that mine won't get me?

I just upgraded to 50 down 10 up for $10 more

What loaded before in 2-3 seconds is now under 1 second

Throughput. Do you download video? Do you stream video? I can't imagine you do much of either with those speeds. If you download, it shows up at your house much faster. If you stream, say with Netflix, the quality can be much better.

I don't download video, you're right.

But I do stream Netflix and Youtube and have no trouble getting HD quality so I'm not sure about your point. Is the difference only that a download will dl faster?

So a 1 to 2 second difference for $10 upgrade fee? Eh...

Netflix requires 4 to 5 mbps for HD, so the numbers you posted (1.4 mbps) can't be typical.

I can download stuff fast while streaming to several devices. More bandwidth is not always necessary, but it is always good.

At any time I may be streaming video over 5 devices so have more bandwidth helps.

Ok, I get this point. The most I'd ever have connected at one time would be 3 devices.

That 1.4 mbps was the speed at my work. I hope you're not suggesting I watch Netflix while earning a pay check. :D

And trust me, websites barely load at that speed....it's an absolute nightmare trying to do just about anything online.
