I was listening to that on SXM today.
Pretty good! It's nice to hear a little variety from the Peppers.

Wolf's Melissa Etheridge post made me think of my favorite song of hers.

A smoldering, steaming pile of Blues (I mean that in a good way!) called "I'm the Only One"

File under Indie bands that didn't get nearly enough radio airplay.

    Doves
    Black and White Town

Never heard it before. From the comments, it must have been popular during the 2006 World Cup

This one is from an artist I listened to back when I had a renewed interest in the Country genre in the 90s. She got played a lot on country radio but soon fell out of favor, and really wouldn't fit in with what gets played on the radio nowadays since her style is folkier than what's popular nowadays. She's more like a contemporary of someone like Lucinda Williams or EmmyLou Harris.

Mary Chapin Carpenter, from back when she was getting air play, a song called "Shut up and kiss me."

Throwback Thursday to the first album I ever remember buying. At different points in my life I had this album on vinyl, cassette, CD and now in digital form.

From Springsteen's Born In The USA. Dancing in the dark.

A new Garbage track, the band sounding a little like Nine Inch Nails on this one.

    "So we can stay alive"

    I dig it.
Sounds like it's from a movie soundtrack.

Heard this on the way home, and had to sit in the car under my carport to wait for it to finish. Too good not to.

    Johnny Cash - Hurt

This was the perfect cover song for Cash. As intense as the original is, Cash brings a personal emotion to it. The album it's on also contains Cash covering Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus.
