It is the favorite for me. I'd also call it highly underrated. In a weird way it kind of has a 'Watching the Detectives' feel to it (also a favorite from Elvis Costello). And yeah, it was a preview of what Sting's solo career would be like in the future.

On the list of Rockstars I wouldn't mind meeting in person, Dave Grohl is pretty high up.
#5 - Stacked Actors - A Courtney Love diss song from the back in the day, although they're getting along swimmingly now!
#4 - Learn to Fly - Seeing this video makes me miss concerts!

Played this album last night while playing atomic chess with my son. We both sang along to most of the album, especially "Alien". PC? No. Fun? Yes.

Hooked on this band real early in life after seeing them play 'Blues Before and After' on SNL back in the early days. Been a fan since.

Metallica are undoubtedly one of the best metal bands of all time, but that whole Napster thing pissed me off. And they lost me on Load, Reload, Garage Inc and Death Magnetic (there's a handful of songs I think are ok but most of its forgettable or just plain bad to me). Nice to see "Hardwired" on your list, that album is a great return to form, landing halfway between Puppets/Justice and the Black Album.
Going to the beginning of my story, my first exposure was "Damage Incorporated", which, as a Halen/Crue/Ratt/Lepp guy, I didn't like at all. Then I went to see a funny funk metal band Scatterbrain and the DJ played "Harvester Of Sorrow" between bands - and that made me change my mind about them. Then "One" got big and I got hooked on Justice.

I used to really like Van Halen. But they got completely overplayed. Now aside from a handful of songs, the channel gets changed.
