SIRIUS|XM’s Area is re-launching as Electric Area and expanding its exclusive dance music content with A State of Sundays, a new show featuring 24 hours of music hosted and curated by DJ Armin van Buuren. The show premieres Sunday, September 12 with an exclusive six-hour set by van Buuren recorded live in Ibiza, Spain.

Tune in to A State of Sundays every week to hear hand-picked music from van Buuren’s personal collection, as well as sets from up-and-coming DJs. The new Electric Area channel will also feature new shows from DJs Steve Aoki, Chuckie and Josh Wink, as well as programs already in the lineup hosted by Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold and more.

More DJs is always a good thing...

    Amen there brother! Good find.

I'm glad they are still looking at the electronic channels. There's still some hope for me to hear more Boombox style programming. Even if it's on a limited basis, I'd still be happy.

I'll have to tune that in for sure. +1

i think the only boombox style is Dj Icey's automatic static. I am glad they are keeping up with EDM, if they kept on dropping channels at the pace they were doing before i would have left (remix, boombox).

Its things like these shows, and the live event coverage that keeps me interested. Elecetric zoo coverage was pretty good (SQ was spotty), WMC is always good, EDC was good also.

Digging the Adam Beyer Drumcode addition. Looking forward to hearing some darker techno there.

Thanks for the links Mario! I've bookmarked them. We're not supposed to stream music at work during business hours, so I have to behave a bit with it, but I can still enjoy these some of the time. Listening now, pretty darned good!

I'm turning crying about Boombox into a fine art! :wah:
I don't know what I'd have to whine about if they ever brought it back!

I need a sentence without an exclamation point now.

I've been listening quite a bit and to be honest, it does sound a lot like the same stuff with a different title.
I'm liking it, but it sounds the same.

i don't listen to any area besides the actual shows, and i don't know how you can't hear a difference. A state of sundays is completely different than what they usually have, they have also signed on new talent such as sander van dorn, sean tyas, sharam, eddie halliwel, adam beyer etc.

That right there is 30 hours of new content a week, almost a work weeks worth.
