The desk clock is inspired by a classic Casio digital watch but includes additional functionality.

I did see that already and I did think it would make a very cool clock to have in my place.

Say hello to my new very fancy toy. The Tudor Black Bay 58.

I've been thinking about tutor for a long time now and I pulled the trigger today and I'm quite happy with it and I know it's a ridiculous amount of money for a stupid watch but I'm going to view it as a Christmas gift to myself and a completion of rehab gift as well so hopefully looking at it will encourage me to not fuck up.

Anyway this thing is freaking amazing. It is the fanciest watch I have by far and I love it so that's that.

I really love this Tudor.

The distinct hour hand and the blue shade are the two things that initially attracted me to this watch. The snowflake handset and specifically the hour hand is what attracted me to this watch. It is so uniquely Tudor. And that's exactly what I wanted when buying a luxury watch. I mean think about the submariner or the seamaster... Like the black Bay, they all have a unique and distinct handset.

Also, this is my first automatic with 72-hour power reserve so that's neat. And it's my first Swiss made luxury watch which really makes a difference in terms of timekeeping because it's a certified chronometer..... As far as I can tell now that I've had it for a month, it's only about plus 1 or 2 seconds per day, which makes it by far my most accurate automatic.

The and I just like the blue colorway. That along with the handset, raised done Sapphire crystal and the symmetrical applied indices just come together to make me really like this watch.

I've been thinking about various black Bay models for about a year now, so it's kind of nice once you actually pull the trigger.

And this thing is a strap monster. I just got a leather strap to put it on. I think it looks pretty good. I'm going to keep it on that bad boy for a while.

Oh the bezel action also feels really good on this watch. It's 60 click and unidirectional and like I said it just feels good. You can't really explain the feeling of a bezel action in words. You need to use it in person. Of all the dive watches I have, it is tied for the best with the micro brand Vaer (another new addition to the collection that I'll talk about later}.

(not my actual watch, I would never leave the bezel misaligned)

You're right, they do look kind of similar....

I've had my eye on a few tags that are really freaking nice but I went nuts with Grail watches and now have three, one of which I haven't showed you guys yet... But anyway if the price tag has four digits before the decimal point, it's not for me anytime soon.

I'm all about collecting non-solar, non full metal. G-Shock squares these days. The baseline G-Shock squares go from around 60 to 150 bucks and they're a million of them so that's what I'm focusing on now.

Problem is you get the Square itch and then you want to buy the full metal ones and then you want to buy the titanium ones and then you go nuts and buy the MR-G Squares that are made in a separate fancy factory.

…..and it’s hip to be square.

Yes it is my friend.

So I don't really post about being sad till I've been sad for like a long time and when I'm sad I make even dumber decisions than usual. But also decisions that make this stupid fucking Floridian quite happy.

I have the silver titanium one but I had to get the black titanium one with the DLC coating so it's like shiny.

Squares are cool.

I've had it for a couple days and I don't trust myself with pins and collars so I took it to a jeweler to size it for me today and I can finally wear it like a nerdy fucking boss.

Holy shit! This thing is beautiful.

It was the same price as my Tudor because this one I bought new the silver one I bought used and it's worth every goddamn penny.

Squares just make me happy bro and this is literally the best square money can buy. The silver one was a little bit cheaper and was the second best square money could buy. So I now have the original 1983 Square that was a pain in the ass to source all the parts and put together but I have it and this MRGB5000B1JR.

I did a bunch of research before buying this one. The last one I bought on a little bit of a whim. So if my research is correct, The profit margin on this watch is about 233% and it touches the hands of about 12 Japanese watchmakers on the specific MR-G production line which is completely different from where every other G-Shock line is assembled.

The profit margin on your average Rolex datejust is about 400% and 20 people on a production line touch it. Just for comparison.

Anyway, I'm a Square boy. I will always be a Square boy and now I'm a happy Square boy.

This thing is fucking pretty.

And here are the two of them together. The two fanciest Squares that exist. They make two others in the MRG line but these are the two best.

Looks like it's plastic.
:sneaky:

Show us some of your watches again man. If I remember correctly..... You're not too far off from being a Movado type fashion watch guy.

Scotch at least buys cool watches. He can bust my balls even though he's wrong I can kind of respect him. And don't get a fucking big head over there Maine guy.... Besides your tag, I don't remember anything else you have that's cool. Sorry you had to catch shrapnel there... That's hectic's fault. Blame him. I'm sure you have cool watches. Oh!!! I'm pretty sure you have a Seiko Pepsi diver that you showed us and that's really cool.
