It's a song that I heard quite often on the Spectrum, and AC radio. And while it's not offensive, it's one of those genteel soccer-mom songs, that begs the question: wtf happened to Kings of Leon?

The Bandit, the album's first (and only) single, reached #18 on the airplay-based Hot Rock Songs chart for the week ending March 20, 2021. The song mentions a "red horse." Don't tell IRBS – but they don't give the horse's name. Maybe it doesn't have one.

You’ve talked about this before. They used to have some balls and could rock it out rather nicely.

Answer: They made a lot of money, sobered up, and relaxed. Now they wear button down shirts, sport coats, and sweater-vests. And they don’t bounce checks anymore.

A friend of mine calls this phenomenon "stung".

Sting went from "Next To You", "Can't Stand Losing You", "Truth Hits Everybody", "It's Alright For You", "No Time This Time", "Canary In A Coalmine" and "Man In A Suitcase" to "Be Still My Beating Heart", "Fragile", "They Dance Alone", "It's Probably Me", "Fields of Gold" and "When We Dance".

Kings Of Leon were stung.
