The Dixie Chicks began in 1989 as a bluegrass group. In 2020, they dropped "Dixie" from their name. The word "Dixie" is offensive – but apparently referring to women as "chicks" is still acceptable. The Chicks Channel debuted today, August 2, and will air on SiriusXM channel 104 through August 9 and on the SiriusXM app through August 31. Here is a sample of the playlist. They ceased to be relevant to me when they became politically correct. They are still "The Dixie Chicks" in my library. Haven't bothered listening to any new stuff or looking to see them again in concert.
