I was intrigued by this band named "TALK"; partially because there was a band named Talk Talk, and also because The Spectrum is playing this song of theirs off the hook (that's not the name of the song, it's my impression). So here's what I found out.

TALK is basically one large guy from Canada. He likes to talk, and he's a fan of the Coldplay song. Anyway, this ballad of his, which is destined to be of significance to a lot of people, is pretty good, and the guy has quite a set of vocal chords. Here's his big hit

TALK – Run Away to Mars

and here he is belting out a cover

TALK – House of the Rising Sun

He’s kinda Mumfordy in the first one - sans kids.
I’ve heard that one on SXM on a couple of different channels. It’s, dare I say, lovely.

House of the Raising Roof.
He’s got some pipes!

I was listening to the always great Old School program on SiriusXMU with Jenny Eliscu, and the theme was songs with "morning" in the name. She played this tune, and all I can think of is WTF happened to Kings Of Leon? They were awesome all those years ago, and now they're pussy-whipped soccer-mom sellouts.

Yeah. What the hell happened to them?
Did they sober up or something?

I still like Sex on Fire. We play it. I use my hollow-body for it with a ton of overdrive for the choruses. It just starts to feedback on the held notes. I like the extra snarl.

This is a cool reimagining of a Sade track.
No Imaginary Love
The Deftones
I think it was on Hair Nation yesterday.

It‘s quite a different vibe from the Deftones I’m used to hearing on the radio.

I like their radio stuff. It's very well produced and orchestrated. It's a band that seems to appreciate........the sonic potential.........of songs, more than just bashing away to make heavy music.

I should dig a bit deeper into their catalog.

Ruth B. (Behre), a 27-year-old singer-songwriter from Edmonton, wrote and recorded Dandelions in 2017. In 2022 a remixed version became a hit in several countries. It reached #4 in Singapore, #6 in Malaysia, #58 in Canada, #28 on the adult contemporary chart and #109 on the Bubbling Under chart. I love this song – and yes, she sings "mine" and "smile" as seven-syllable words.

That's cool, and different.

I have that album on CD! I love their covers of Duran Duran's "The Chauffeur" and Depeche's "To Have And To Hold" (but the Depeche track is not on there sadly).
The Chauffeur is a great tune!
