Hey, pops wants to get my mom one of the wi-fi streaming boxes. Anyone try one? He says it's hard for her to take the old Inno and boombox. That unit is smaller, will work with wi-fi, plugged into the wall. 130 bucks. What's weird is she has a no stern plan in the car, the app, and the old xm box.

There's only 2 ways to select a plan now. Full access or a pick a channel group for talk that are 5 bucks per grouping. Seems most people use it in the car, and app.

I've never known of the existence of wi-fi streaming boxes. I've been using my old cell phones for years to stream Sirius. I shut-off the data, remove all the apps, and use it just for streaming via wi-fi.

Are you referring to radios like grace internet radios and/or the TTR radios from SXM? With the improvements to the apps, these radios can't keep up with the features added to the app and become very limited very quickly.

Have you thought about just getting cheap tablet & using that w/the app if Wi-Fi's the way you're going? Not 100% sure if there's a Sirius app for the Kindle Fire, but they're practically giving those thing away this week.

Sometimes I'll stream SXM on s iPad or old cell phone too.
There was something fun and easy about dedicated streaming boxes, but they become obsolete before you know it.

Wasn't the older Tivoli radio one of these?

I wonder if TSS Radio can hook you up, if you're still looking. I think the constant improvements/additions to the app makes the app preferable, as said.
