I got the update a few days ago and now I turned it on today and now I need to active it again. WTF is up with that. It said updating subscription and then to the activation screen and when I go to log in to my account I can't get on now. This company really gives me headaches. Glad I got the ipod touch now.

I do have Pop2K for channel 39, but channel 39 is Backspin.

I am missing something?

Do others have a Backspin logo for channel 39?

No. The logos match the channel names. Sirius has not done a channel update. Its not that time of the decade.

Since the 2.0.5 update, my sports tickers have gone haywire. Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm getting alerts for teams that I don't have alerts turned on for, and likewise for score tickers.

I haven't noticed any but I have no alerts on at the moment. Will turn some on come NFL season. Did you update or do the device recovery?

Just the standard update. Went flawlessly, as usual. I've always been a bit lucky when it came to my SL-2... aside from the service-side issues we're all dealing with (non-updated channels, inability to love songs, etc.) I've never had any of the major problems I've read about on this board w/ regards to memory loss, etc.

Obviously, since I have hundreds of saved songs in my library, a device recovery is a last resort for me - and it's unlikely to fix what appears to be another service-side problem anyway. Sigh...

My experiences have been different. The 1st update I did manually and it worked fine but 3 weeks later I had to do my first device recovery. The time I did my 2nd device recovery, it happened right after an update was announced. I just decided that it was easier to do the recovery. I no longer consider any 'loved' songs on my SL2 to be 'permanent' storage. Even if I want to keep them, sooner or later, the SL2 will delete them anyways.

So, there I was listening to my SL2 via Wi-Fi.

All of a sudden, I got a notice about how my radio was updated and it would take effect after the next reboot. I rebooted the radio and everything disappeared! It was like it "forgot" the subscription info.

A few minutes later, there were various signs of an update through the satellite. I kept waiting, and it kept updating.

Here's what we get:

A new logo and background for Playboy Radio (bye-bye gigantic boobies.)
A new logo for ESPN Deportes Radio and ESPN Radio.
A new background for several (maybe all) of the sports channels.
Logos on ALL channels (as far as I can tell.) This includes Spa, Sporting News, the couple of traffic channels which were missing the logos. Sports PbP channel 194, Book Radio, and the Best of XM channels.

I know there's stuff i'm forgetting...fill me in.

I just turned mine on today and I too was listening via wi-fi then after I turned it off and back on (There is a Sirius logo and dots at the bottom and had to wait till they all lit up and very suprised to find all the logos updated. Its about time! ;)

It was verified that if you were a SL user you would get free internet through your SL. If you are lifetime you would also get free internet through your player. If you are not lifetime, and not premium. you will lose your web player access upon your next renewal.

Ah. That's what's up. Sirius.com still works, but will cease the next time I renew.

Do they know that Pop2K and Cinemagic are still listed?

I called Sirius Corporate and told them a lot of people are seeing Pop2K and Cinemagic names/logos. Hopefully that helps a little bit...doubt it.

They should all give us credit off XM radios if we send in our Sirius radios. :)

This logo/name issue is one hell of a crappy limitation on these radios. Why in the HELL did they go down this road on day one?

OTOH, if people left their radios on while they slept, everything would be automatically updated in the morning. (I do this and haven't had any issues with having to wait while it updates.)

I also told them that a "Rotating Artist Channel" would be "one HELL of an idea!" and they said they'd pass it up. I said "pass it ALLLL the way to the top!" but we know who the head of Music is. :(

I doubt a "rotating artist channel" is gonna happen. They'd rather piss off fans of the Bridge and chase them away (which I said is happening) rather than keep everyone happy (which I said is not happening.)

Once again the problem here is that Sirius has to do a channel mapping update for the proper logos to be represented on the given channels. It has always been this way and will likely always be this way. Their system compared to the XM side is so archaic and another reason I switched to the XM side once the channel merger happened!

I have tried to live with this update for the last two weeks..

I have to say it is a deal breaker and when my 3 radios are up for renewal next month I'm done. I might as well have the far cheaper internet-only subscription and just toss my SL2.

It has to re-buffer every time the inactivity timeout happens. Why am I paying for this kind of treatment?

I know.

So because this most recent update wasn't a channel mapping update, they couldn't fix those logos/names, despite the fact they did update everything else?

I guess they COULD have sent us the proper logos for the new channels, but then we'd be bitching about new logos and old channel names.

It seems stupid that they'd send two updates that would disable our radios for 5 minutes while NOT updating everything. It's like cleaning up the kitchen, but forgetting to start the dishwasher.
