Inspired by recent posts, I think it would be interesting to post songs that have some sort of everyday sounds inserted into them. We're not talking about sampled music, but just sounds.

I'll kick this off with this one from The Clash. At 1:52, a digital watch alarm plays "Dixie". I found out that the sound drop only appears on the album version of the song.

While recording "Drama" for The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum, Donita Sparks of L7 was hitting a wall, so she reached for a tiny Micro Jammers toy guitar for the solo. When asked why by Rolling Stone, she said, "It was out of complete frustration, like, ‘Fuck it, I can’t play these riffs, let the Micro Jammers do it for $1.99.’"

Here are two songs that begin with the sound of a telephone ringing. Early Morning Wake Up Call is the title track of a 1984 album by Australian new-wave group Flash & The Pan. As Soon As I Hang Up The Phone was a number-one country hit for Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn in Aiugust 1974.

There's a song on Pink Floyd The Wall that has a phone ringing too (not the bells the person being called hears, but the sound the caller hears while waiting for the phone to be answered). Maybe "Nobody's Home"...?

I was about to post "Hanging on the Telephone" by Blondie. But it's a cover!

Here's the original

I always thought that was from one of those old-school electronic football games.

Ice Rink is an instrumental from Treddin' On Thin Ice, the 2004 debut album by Wiley (Richard Kylea Cowie Jr.). I think some of the weird noises are from the Pac-Man arcade game.
