Do any of you remember Madden as the Raiders coach?

I only ever knew him as the fun guy who made every game more enjoyable. Not because he was a genius, football mind, but because he was a genius football entertainer in the booth.

And of course I've been playing Madden since SNES days. Right now I have Madden 25 for PS5. Recently Madden has kind of gone to shit but it's the only football game you can buy because of that stupid contract EA has with the NFL. So I'm basically forced to buy it every year even though I know at best it's going to be like a 6 out of 10 game.

I only remember him as a broadcaster. He could babble on for hours and his babble would remain very interesting. Even his detailed descriptions of routine plays that everybody understood sounded magical. He had that type of voice/presence.

Always good to see Baltimore lose. Feel bad for Tucker. How long can they stick with him? Philly looks real good. Hope the Steelers can take care of them in a couple weeks when they play them.

The Saints looks incredibly bad tonight in all facets of the game. I figured they would lose but they might make a game of it.

The announcers mentioned that. Also they had some problems with tackling on the defence. A particular skill required to stop opposing offences. I saw they have been loosing closer games for the last couple weeks so I foolishly picked them against a 13.5 point spread. Won't make that mistake again.

Yesterday on the TV at my uncle's house, I noticed that the New England Patriots aren't doing so well this year. They're 3-12. That's a long way down from the 'dynasty' days I kept hearing about 10-15 years ago.

If that's not on, hockey or basketball. The start-and-stop sports don't appeal to me as much. Yes I know tennis is start-and-stop, but I play it so I enjoy it most.

I watch Formula 1 from March through November. Other than that, I tend to watch most Patriots games, but I only catch the Red Sox if they're in the playoffs. And I'm even less dedicated to the Celtics and Bruins.

I haven't been a tennis follower since I was a kid. Our whole family watched.
